1945年8月9日、16歳。

爆心地から3.6キロの疎開事務所に学徒動員されていました。

I was 16 years old when being A-bombed on August 9, 1945.

Working as a mobilized student (Gakuto-doin:学徒動員) at an office of evacuation, 3.6 km away from H.C.

11時2分、白い閃光（閃光）と爆発音を感じ、机の下にもぐりました。

At 11.02, feeling acute and white flash with huge sound of explosion, immediately I went under the desk.

町並みは消え、別世界に迷い込んだようでした。

The whole Nagasaki town I lived in and was accustomed to, gotten been totally extinguished in instant, and I felt as if  I entered  quite different world.

18才の姉は、息絶えました。

Soon my elder sister, 18-year-old, stopped breathing.

浦上天主堂が炎上し、涙があふれ、怒りを覚えました。

Urakami（浦上）Church had sunk in flare of fire.
Tears flowed and my heart became filled with anger…

「ああ、世界が終る」と。

“Is this the end of the world…?”

川には折り重なって死体が浮いていました。

In the rivers, indistinguishable corpses were piled up and floating.

12日、母と弟で姉を荼毘にふしました。

My mother and I cremated my sister by our own hands.

母は地面を見つめ、ただ祈り続けました。

My mother looked up the sky and I felt "her pray will sound to last forever."

1発の原爆は、7万4千人を傷つけました。

Only one atomic bombing onto Nagasaki destroyed 74,000 lives.

「核と人類と共存できない」と確信しています。

I certainly believe, “Nuclear and Humankind cannot co-exist.”

2011年3月11日

（東京電力）福島第一原発事故で、再び、核の脅威におびえました。

Again, on March 11, 2011, we have been terrified by ‘the Threat of Nuclear' due to the accidentof TEPCO’s FUKUSHIMA Nuclear Power Plants.

わたしたちは、自然エネルギーに軸足を移すべきではないでしょうか。

We humankind should move toward the direction of energy by natural reusable resources.

平和憲法を国是として復興した我が国が、

Our country Japan has recovered from after the war devastation based on 'the Peace Constitution'.

世界から集めた尊敬と信頼は失ってはなりません。

Then this peace constitution that renounces the war become the big reason why our country being able to be relied on from all over the world.

So we should never lose this reliance and credibility in the field of international position.

唯一の戦争被爆国としての責務も忘れてはなりません。

And we should not forget that we Japanese have to behave as  people who live in the country that has direct experience of only nuke bombed.

3千枚超の原爆写真を収集検証しました。

I have collected A-bomb related photographs over 3,000 and checked in details.

原子雲の下で起きた真実を伝える写真の力を信じ、

I believe the power of photographs that can express the truth what happened under the mushroom cloud.

被爆の実相を伝え、恒久平和と核廃絶に尽くします。

And I will do my best to make this world true and eternal peace place.
